Process shots of ‘Harvest’.

I always get a lot of questions about posting more on process, so here are some shots from my piece ‘Harvest’ I did a few months back. It’s graphite and carbon on Stonehenge paper. The paper is coated with powdered graphite and I use an eraser to pull out shapes of objects within the drawing, working in more details as I go. The darkest parts of the image is where I used the carbon, which really helped reduce some of the reflection in the piece and make the highlights jump out. Hope some of you might find this post informative!

Oh and you may notice that in the final version only one hand is visible. I ended up removing the left hand to reduce some compositional tension in the drawing.
